The Delta Music Museum's mission is to collect, preserve, and exhibit, the musical heritage along the Mississippi River Delta Region beginning in Memphis, TN and traveling down the Mississippi River Delta through New Orleans, LA. The Delta Music Museum shall endeavor to educate the general public concerning the musical heritage of the Mississippi River Delta Region.
Our tour guides offer some interesting stories to go along with each exhibit related to our music celebrities. As an added feature, you can view partial performances of each celebrity in our video room. Learn how Conway Twitty almost became a baseball star; Why Aaron Neville wears a St. Jude Earring; How Ferriday native cousins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley and Jimmy Swaggart played the game "Unconquered."
Handicap entrance and parking is at the rear of our building. If you are in a chartered bus, you may want to park on the side of our building on the corner of Louisiana Avenue and Third Street. The handicap ramp makes it a lot easier for folks that cannot handle the steep steps on the front of our building.
The Delta Music Museum has a very active friends foundation to help facilitate enhancement of our current exhibits. Join our Friends of the Delta Music Museum Foundation today. Call (318)757-9999. The Delta Music Museum is operated by the State Of Louisiana, Office of the Secretary of State Museum Division. The museum is a "free admission" facility.
